Google is rolling out some changes to the stories-style Memories feature in Photos. Until now, these automatically generated highlights have been private but starting today you’ll be able to natively share a memory with friends and family through any device that has Google photos!
The new and improved Memories will offer you more memories, including what Google believes are your best clips from longer videos. And starting this fall they’ll automatically grab the most meaningful moments in those videos for easy preservation as well!
Google is currently testing a new feature that will make still images in memories feel less static. The company calls this Zoom effect, and it’s only available for still photos taken with its newest camera circular device called Memories Camera (which has been announced recently). On top of having moving 3D representations like other types or cinematic moments within your past experiences logged into these digital photo books.
Memories is getting a whole lot more intuitive. Along with tapping on the left or right of your screen to move between photos in an individual memory, you can now swipe up and down within those memories too! You’ll still be able exclude certain people or time periods from showing up as well- which means there are even fewer barriers for keeping what’s important private – but this new system makes it feel much less daunting than before when scrolling through all those captured moments at home alone after work each night.
Google is always making changes to their products and Services. Memories, one of the most loved features in Photos with over 3 billion monthly views according google numbers- will be getting an update that could make it even easier for you too record short video clips from your phone and post them online if desired! While sharing options still need some work before they’re perfect (you’ll only have access via app), there’s no reason not take advantage while these updates exist
